$F                       Maximum Number of Open Files           Default: $F16


 {$F<num>}

    Specifies how many files can be opened at the same time. 16 is the
    maximum number of files that can be specified. A 'Too many open files'
    error can occur if the operating system runs out of file buffer space.
    Refer to the FILES= statement in the CONFIG.SYS file of your MS-DOS
    reference manual for more information on increasing the number of
    files available to the operating system.

          Range:    Entire program.
